Why Elemental Disc Golf Carries Used Discs...
When we started Elemental Disc Golf, our goal was simple: to give back to the local disc golf community. Middle Georgia has a relatively small but passionate disc golf scene, and we wanted to help grow the sport for future generations.
With a personal background in lake disc retrieval and returns, we knew that much of our initial used disc inventory would come from discs we recovered but couldn’t return to their original owners. That’s why we use DiscDefender, making lost-and-found disc returns more transparent and organized for local players.
Turning Lost Discs into Positive Impact
Unfortunately, some individuals have contributed to a negative perception around lake-recovered discs, often trading them in at secondhand sports stores rather than returning them. To combat this, we set aside $1 from every used disc sale — no matter the origin — to help create a positive impact in our community.
At the same time, we keep used disc prices low to encourage more people to get out and throw. Players shouldn’t be afraid to try a new mold or worry about losing their favorite disc on a local lake hole. That’s why we cap used disc prices at $11, even for collectible discs that might demand higher prices elsewhere.
Supporting Local Schools and Programs
Thanks to the continued support of our customers shopping in our used disc section, we’ve been able to make a meaningful impact:
-
40 starter sets donated to schools across Georgia
-
50 discs and an MVP basket recently donated to a local P.E. program
The total retail value of items donated now approaches $1,400, all aimed at growing the sport of disc golf in Middle Georgia.
Thank You for Supporting Local Disc Golf
We want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported Elemental Disc Golf and our used disc program. Together, we’re helping more players get outside, try new discs, and enjoy the game.
Our mission continues: to expand the disc golf community in Middle Georgia and provide opportunities for players of all ages to get involved. Here’s to growing the sport for years to come!
